Description of project: RetroPunk is 2D souls-like where the player takes control of McKiller, a disgruntled factory worker for a neon light company. One day he's had enough and steals one of the company's neon sabres and marches to the factory floor to fight for his freedom and escape the tyrannical rule of... The WhisleBlower.
Game Designer
My role on retropunk was mainly player and boss design, alongside a minor helping of UI Design and Level Design. I was responsible for coming up with how the boss would attack the player and how the game was balanced to try and make it as fun to beat as possible within the short time frame of the game's development.
Halfway through the project the artist we were working with got sick and had to leave early so I got to become a 2D pixel artist for a few hours which was fun, especially since i got to learn how to implement pixel art into a project.
